We have worked hard to find a solution for the 2022.5 and up GM Sierra/Silverado 1500, 2500 and 3500 HUGE shift lever. More importantly blocking part of the 13.4” screen while in drive with the refresh 2022.5+ Silverado column shifter and the 2024+ Silverado/Sierra 2500 and 3500’s.
Our BL Customs modified OEM GM shifters have been shortened by 1.7" with our redesigned OEM look end caps.
Recommend professional install. No liability for any damages that may occur during installation.
Install time 10-15 minutes
Tools needed are a 7mm socket, T30 OR T25 torx (Most years have a T30), ratchet and a small flat head screw driver. (Clip tool but not necessary)
Remove the 7mm screw from under the steering column.
Separate the top and lower steering column trim by carefully pulling up with your hands OR a plastic trim tool If needed.
Pull back the shift boot to access the T30 OR T25 torx bolt (Most years have T30) and remove.
Follow the single wire coming out of the shift lever and pry up on the small black clip holding the wire down. (You will need to transfer this black Xmas tree clip to the new shift lever wire) Then unplug the connector (small black clip on connector will need to be transferred to the new shift lever connector) and remove the shift lever.
Pull back the red tab and push the small black tab to release the connector.
Remove the rubber boot from your old shifter and install it on the new short shifter.
Install the new short shift lever into the steering column and install the T30 OR T25 torx bolt WITH a drop of blue loctite.
Plug in the connector and push the black Christmas tree clip into the column
Snap the upper and lower steering column back together and install the 7mm screw (Bottom of the steering column) Install now complete!!
